REGISTERING A TRADE NAME - All new businesses established in Somerset County must file a Trade Name with the County Clerk. The cost of filing is $50.00, payable by cash, check or money order made payable to the Somerset County Clerk. Click on the link below to begin the application and search for available names. Once you complete the online process, the form must be printed, signed and notarized.  You may mail the notarized form with payment or return it in person.   Make an appointment for your in-person visit.

Apply for a Trade Name Certificate 

DISCHARGE OF A TRADE NAME - Any business that recorded a Trade Name Certificate in this office is required to discharge the certificate upon dissolution of the business.
