DISASTER RECOVERY OFFICES

The FEMA Disaster Recovery Center in Manville will be closing permanently on Saturday, Nov. 20. It is located at:

  • WHERE: North End Firehouse #3, 169 N 8th Ave, Manville, NJ 08835. 
  • HOURS: Monday - Friday: 8a.m. - 6p.m. | Saturday: 8a.m. -  5p.m.

However, help is still available at other disaster recovery centers in the following locations:

  • Essex County: Kmart (Co-located with a Vaccination Center) 235 Prospect Ave. #9413, West Orange 07052.
  • Union County: O’Donnell Dempsey Senior Community Center, 618 Salem Ave., Elizabeth 07208.

Survivors may also call the FEMA Helpline at 800-621-3362 from 7 a.m. to 1 a.m. daily for many of the same services available at the disaster recovery centers.  If you use a Relay service, such as a videophone, InnoCaption, or CapTel, give FEMA the number for that service. Multilingual operators are available. You can also download the FEMA App.

Federal disaster assistance for individuals and families can include money for rental assistance, essential home repairs, personal property losses, and other serious disaster-related needs not covered by insurance.

The Small Business Administration will open a Business Recovery Center for all Somerset County businesses requiring assistance following Hurricane Ida (beginning Monday, September 20) 

  • WHERE: Somerset County Business Partnership, 360 Grove Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807
  • HOURS: Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. | Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Appointments are not necessary.

FEMA has declared Hurricane Ida to be a major disaster, and that makes additional resources available for individuals and businesses in Somerset County.

Small Business Administration Disaster Aid

Apply for FEMA assistance first, then come to the SBA even if you are applying for your business.

US. Department of Agriculture Disaster Aid for Farmers

The USDA can provide livestock assistance, farm restoration loans, compensation for lost crops, and more.
