DISASTER RECOVERY OFFICES |
The FEMA Disaster Recovery Center in Manville will be closing permanently on Saturday, Nov. 20. It is located at:
- WHERE: North End Firehouse #3, 169 N 8th Ave, Manville, NJ 08835.
- HOURS: Monday - Friday: 8a.m. - 6p.m. | Saturday: 8a.m. - 5p.m.
However, help is still available at other disaster recovery centers in the following locations:
- Essex County: Kmart (Co-located with a Vaccination Center) 235 Prospect Ave. #9413, West Orange 07052.
- Union County: O’Donnell Dempsey Senior Community Center, 618 Salem Ave., Elizabeth 07208.
Survivors may also call the FEMA Helpline at 800-621-3362 from 7 a.m. to 1 a.m. daily for many of the same services available at the disaster recovery centers. If you use a Relay service, such as a videophone, InnoCaption, or CapTel, give FEMA the number for that service. Multilingual operators are available. You can also download the FEMA App.
Federal disaster assistance for individuals and families can include money for rental assistance, essential home repairs, personal property losses, and other serious disaster-related needs not covered by insurance.

The Small Business Administration will open a Business Recovery Center for all Somerset County businesses requiring assistance following Hurricane Ida (beginning Monday, September 20)
- WHERE: Somerset County Business Partnership, 360 Grove Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807
- HOURS: Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. | Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Appointments are not necessary.

For Somerset County residents who have become homeless from Hurricane Ida, here is a program that may help you find new long-term housing.
Somerset County Clerk
For residents who lost valuable papers to the flooding, the Somerset County Clerk can help get replacements for some documents.
- Copies of deeds, mortgages from 1/1/1977 - present are online. Older records are available at 20 Grove Street in Somerville.
- Copies of trade name registrations from 1/1/1977 - present are online. Older records are available in our office.
- Come to the Clerk's Office at 20 Grove Street in Somerville for replacement copies of DD214 or Veterans ID card that were obtained from the Somerset County Clerk.
- Visit the Clerk's website to sign up for notification in the event someone fraudulently attempt to access your deeds or other vital records overseen by the County Clerk
