The purpose of this page is to provide information on current construction projects involving Somerset County roads, bridges, traffic signals, and major parks projects.  The page is updated when there is a change to the status of a project.

County Construction Projects 

• South Branch Road (CR 567) Bridge C0701, Branchburg Twp

• Skillmans Lane Bridge K0401 & Cortelyous Lane Bridge H0401, Franklin Twp  [SKILLMANS LANE REOPENED ON 3-29-24 and CORTELYOUS LANE CLOSED ON 4-1-24]

• Safety Improvements - Main Street (CR 533), Manville

• River Road (County Rt.567), Hillsborough Twsp.

Other Construction Work (e.g. utility work)   

• CR527 S Main Street/Queens Bridge in Bound Brook- Friday 4/26/2024, the Queens Bridge will be closed for emergency asphalt repairs.  The road will be closed during the working hours of 7:30PM-5:00AM and a Detour will be posted.

• CR527 Mountain Blvd in Warren Township, Water Main replacement and services  by New Jersey American Water/CRJ from Wilshire Road to Wildwood Terrace starting Thursday 2/22 from the working hours of 8pm to 6am with a detour posted.  This project is anticipated to last approximately 1-2 months.
