Our Mission

The Somerset County Commission on the Status of Women shall advocate for all women in Somerset County by providing an effective forum to identify and address women’s issues and concerns.

We will develop a greater public awareness of women’s issues by sponsoring informational exchanges.

The end result is to enhance the quality of life for everyone.

About the Commission

The Somerset County Commission on the Status of Women is a group of concerned individuals who are interested in identifying and addressing issues that affect women in our communities. The Commission was created by the Board of County Commissioners in January 1985.

Commissioners are appointed by the Board of County Commissioners and one County Commissioner serves as liaison to the Commission. The Commission meets the first Wednesday of each month at the County Administration Building in Somerville. All meetings are open to the public.
