Recovery Friendly Workplaces, an integral part of a Recovery Friendly Community

Rooted in the peer recovery movement, the Recovery Friendly Workplace initiative, piloted in New Jersey, in Somerset County, is an employer directed stigma reduction program that aims to educate the community that substance use disorders and mental health concerns are public health conditions.

Workshop Presenters

Ken Musgrove, CPRS
Director of Recovery Support
Community in Connection

Ken Musgrove is a person in long term lived recovery from substance use and mental health concerns, Ken combines his operational skills from an extensive retail career with a person first approach to substance use recovery support. A Certified Peer Recovery Specialist with a BA from Hofstra University, Ken is committed to offering multiple pathways of recovery to the community. Ken enjoys getting out in nature and a dedicated mindfulness practice.

David Martinak, CPRS
Peer Advocate
Community in Connection

David Martinak is an Advocate and ardent supporter of multiple pathways to recovery from substance use and cooccurring mental health disorders. In addition to his lived recovery experience, David brings more than 30 years of industry leadership from entrepreneurial start-up ventures to large multinational entities and most recently as an independent strategic planning consultant. Extensive travel to more than eighty countries, has provided him a deepened awareness of global diversities, perspectives, and cultural sensitivities.
