Mission Statement

The Community Police Alliance Coordinator's (CPAC) mission is to bridge the gap between the community and law enforcement and respond to mental health crises with the Bridgewater Police Department (BPD) and the Bound Brook Police Department (BBPD) when called upon. The CPAC will receive, analyze, act upon and follow up on referrals provided by the BPD and BBPD based on the observations of the "Officer Liaison" and the CPAC. The CPAC will offer referred individuals and families the information and support needed to take advantage of community services that address issues, such as mental health and substance use, domestic violence, housing and food insecurity, childcare, and healthcare. The CPAC's focus is on reducing harm to the public, saving law enforcement resources, and creating a better community for everyone.

“I think that there is something truly special about working with the police department in the town that I grew up in. When I was asked to fill the role as the Community Police Alliance Coordinator, I immediately knew that I would have been able to use my social work skills to assist the residents in areas like substance use disorders, youth advocacy, mental health crisis, and more. This is a great opportunity to bridge the gap between the community and law enforcement."

- Dameon M. Stackhouse, LSW
